Strawberry stuffed with cheesecake filling and topped with graham cracker crumbs. |
Now, doesn't that just make your mouth water? These little babies are great when you're strapped for time, but still need to make something tasty for a party. This is the perfect little hors d'oeuvre because you can pop the whole thing in your mouth with no clean up!
Itching to try one? Here's how to make your own.
Ingredients:
2 lb strawberries
8 oz cream cheese
4 tsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Graham cracker crumbs
First, you'll want to prepare your strawberries. I washed all of the strawberries and cut off the tops. Then, I used a small paring knife to hollow them out. This is the hardest part because if you cut out too much of the fruit, it won't hold its shape.
Now it's time to break out those mixers. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until creamy. Just like that, your cheesecake filling is ready! Yes, it's really that simple.
The easiest way to inject your strawberries is to spoon your filling into a Ziploc bag, cut off a corner and gently squeeze into each berry.
Roll the tops in graham cracker crumbs to complete the effect, then serve immediately while fresh.
Be sure to refrigerate any leftovers (if there are any!) and enjoy!
What I think:
I found this recipe and had to try it immediately.
I served them up fresh to my boyfriend and his nephew, then backed out of the way as they moved in to devour the whole plate. Needless to say, the recipe was a success!
I highly suggest trying it out for a 4th of July picnic, family get together, hangout session with friends or for when you're craving sweets but don't want to clean up a huge mess.
Good first post. I'm a foodie, so I'll enjoy reading this one. I'm assuming you took the photo. If not, cite the source. Since you're taking someone else's recipe, comment more on it. was it as easy as you thought it would be? How could it be adapted?
